Julian Dobranowski

Dr. Dobranowski is a Radiologist and is the Professor and Chair in the Department of Medical Imaging at McMaster University, Hamilton and Radiologist-in-chief at Niagara Health. He is passionate about improving Quality in patient care and holds the leading position of Provincial Head for the Cancer Imaging Program at Cancer Care Ontario and the position of Provincial Clinical Lead Access to Care for MRI and CT. In his role at Niagara Health, Dr. Dobranowski manages medical imaging and acts as a leader within the department for various quality care initiatives.

Dr. Dobranowski completed his medical education and training at the Medical Academy in Krakow, Poland, radiology training at McMaster University and a fellowship in MRI at the University of Western Ontario. He helped establish Hamilton Health Sciences’ Juravinski Research Center and the Center for Integrated and Advanced Medical Imaging for the MohawkMcMaster Institute of Applied Health Sciences.

He currently serves as a professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Imaging at McMaster University. A recipient of the PAIRO award for clinical teaching excellence.

His textbook Discover Radiology: Chest X-ray Interpretation was awarded the British Medical Association BMA Radiology Textbook of the Year Award in 2014. His MEDMASTERY e-learning program won the 2017 “Highly Commended” BMA Award. In 2021 Julian was honoured by the Canadian Association of Radiologists with the Distinguished Career Achievement Award and in 2022 with the Distinguished Fellow Award by Mohawk College.

 

Dr Julian Dobranowski is the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging at Niagara Health.
